ASA Member's Web Page Editor

You are about to be presented with the login screen where you can enter your Username and Password. Once you have entered these details the editor will load and you should follow the steps below:

  1. In the centre of the screen there is a yellow title "select a page to edit".
    see screenshot here
    You can either:
    • enter the web page address if you know it by clicking "enter a web page url" or
    • use the file manager
  2. If you choose "file manager" then click the button "click here for file manager" further down the screen
  3. click on the folder link that is called "member pages" and that will open the folder with all the member's pages in it
  4. look down the list for your company name which will, generally, be in the form of one word and have the word [edit] after it
  5. Only your page will be editable and all other company pages are locked
  6. click [edit] to edit your company page

Most of the editing facilities will be familiar to anyone used to using Microsoft products. There is a help facility that explains the way to use the editing functions.

Images (important information)
You may upload images or photos to use on your company page but they have to be .jpg files. If you use a digital camera it produces .jpg files by default. The size of the image should be a maximum of 150 pixels tall and 280 pixels wide so anything less than that is fine. Also the size in Kilobytes is very important and should be less than 50Kb and ideally less than 30Kb. If you really want to include larger images then let me know and I will help you to insert or reduce them. Most graphics software will re-size and crop images and you could use Corel Paint Shop Pro or Serif Photo Plus both of which retail at well under £100.00.

To finish editing click "save page" or if you do not wish to keep the changes then click "cancel changes". If you make a mess and save the changes, don't worry as it can be corrected by the web designer.

Finally you must click "logout" with the little green light, at the top of the page.

News (September 2008)
Some images that are being uploaded are either in the wrong format or too big for the space on the page or larger than 50 Kilobytes. Please read the section on images on this page. If you have any problems then contact Sylvia Battersby at Alfed - s_battersby@alfed.org.uk.
