Following last year's successful event, addressed by Karren Brady and attended by 125 members and guests, plans are in hand for this year’s Dutch Party. The 2010 Dutch Party will be held on Thursday October 21^st at the Marriott Forest of Arden Hotel, Meriden, tickets are £110 + VAT for Members and £150 + VAT for non-members.

The speaker for this year's Dutch Party is Wayne Hemingway - Fashion Designer, co-founder of the fashion label “Red or Dead”, Chairman of the South Coast Design Forum, Chair of Building for Life and CABE (Commission for Architecture and The Built Environment) a funded organisation that promotes excellence in the quality of design of new housing.

He set up Hemingway Design, joining forces with building firm Wimpey to work on various housing projects specialising in affordable and social design. He is a Professor in the Built Environment department of Northumbria University and a writer for architectural and housing publications as well as a judge of international design competitions including the regeneration of Byker in Newcastle and Salford in Greater Manchester. He received an MBE for his work in these areas and is currently the Chairman of the South Coast Design Forum.

Wayne Hemingway believes passionately in the supremacy of design. He is an inspirational, motivating and entertaining speaker and was the guest speaker at the Power of Aluminium Awards dinner, at which ASA was a sponsor. He is a family man and his other passions are his extensive vinyl record collection and Blackburn Rovers!

2010 SPARKS GOLF DAY

The annual ASA Golf Day, held in aid of Sparks the ASA’s chosen charity, will be held at Dyrham Park again, following the successful 2009 event. Legendary England footballer Matt le Tissier will again be hosting this celebrity competition which will take place on Thursday 12th August at this prestigious venue. Members can enter one or more teams of 3 golfers at the all-inclusive price of £675 with a celebrity making up the team. Click here to download details and an entry form.
